After one year in Osaka, Japan, I have returned to Sunny South Florida.

So much has happened over the last year. From August 22, 2014 to August 18, 2015 I lived in Osaka, Japan and attend college at Kansai Gaidai. I also had the chance while there to visit other countries in Asia; Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand and India. Unfortunately I ended up being too busy to post the way I had hoped to on this blog.

As I have now returned to South Florida I will slowly be posting all of the amazing experiences I had while abroad as well as my new experiences that are about to begin.

Things you find out last minute

Last week I found out in order to bring more than a months supply of contacts you have to fill out a form called, "Yakkan Shoumei" and submit it for approval to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare
As the form has to be delivered by postal mail I was worried that I didn't have very much time to get it to Japan, but the rates for International Priority Mail were insane.  I was shipping 5 pieces of paper in an envelope.  The regular mail rate was $4.12.  Ok not too bad, but there is no way of guaranteeing the delivery date, so I had to go priority.  6-10 day delivery jumped to $25 & change and 3-5 days doubled to about $50.  Insane...I am sending 5 sheets of paper.  I settled on the 6-10 day delivery and am praying that they receive it in time to send me my email acceptance before I leave.

For anyone traveling to Japan you need to be aware of what is allowed medically into the country.  Please click this link for more details:  http://www.mhlw.go.jp/english/policy/health-medical/pharmaceuticals/01.html
